What You Need To Know About RenArts

Welcome new students. Here is a list of things Renarts students think you need to know about our school. Here is some heartfelt advice to make your transition into RenArts easier.

  • Everyone reads everything
  • We call advisors by their first name.
  • You grow as a performer.
  • Buy a tuner.
  • Think or go.
  • Keep your hair out of your face.
  • Be responsible for your file.
  • You can always do more.
  • Music theory is like math.
  • Participate in after school activities.
  • Take advantage of re-takes for tests.
  • There is tutoring after school if you need it.
  • Always put your MLA heading on your paper.
  • Teachers see everything.
  • Ignore all distractions.
  • Use your study time-all of it.
  • We recycle.
  • A key to being on stage more is to not complain when you are asked to move differently.
  • Finish all of your Latin study sheets.
  • Always ask questions.
  • Ask the advisor to use the restroom.
  • It's just one BIG ROOM.
  • Be a respectful audience.
  • Advisors will help you.
  • Make sure your computer and printer are working.
  • Our orchestra, choir, and dance are FREE.
  • Practice - a lot, a lot, a lot.
  • There are no fights.
  • Latin tests are every two weeks. Study or face the wrath of Tom.
  • Popularity does not exist here.
  • Your behavior affects you knowledge.
  • RenArts is a place to learn not to play.
  • Be ready to create new movement everyday.
  • Actually read the readings it will help on the essays.
  • You need an expandable file.
  • Be prepared to practice, practice, practice.
  • You will read classics.
  • In this school a '" c " is not passing.
  • The end of year show is really, really, fun.
  • No walls.
  • Be ready to achieve.
  • Be prepared for anything.
  • Work hard on your essays.
  • Remember to clean up your trash at lunch if you want RenArts to stay clean and bug-free.
  • Performance fear is a fear you must overcome.
  • Never be scared to share your thinking.
  • If this was a martial arts school your mind would be your weapon.
  • You must be a scholar not a student.
  • It's one big room so be as quiet as you can.
  • Bring your instrument or ballet shoes every day.
  • Be prepared to take lots and lots and lots of margin notes.
  • Be prepared to go to a very good school.
  • Choose to be a dancer or play an instrument.
  • Each advisor knows each scholar’s name.
  • Be prepared to sing.
  • You're never finished.
  • You will be here after school at least two nights a week -- probably more.
  • Leave your cell phone in your backpack and turn it off!.
  • Have your things ready for every class.
  • Study for every test.
  • If you don't like writing essays then Renarts is not the school for you.
  • Renarts is not the same as any other school.
  • Make sure that you turn in things on time.
  • Here at Renarts we take practicing seriously.
  • We do not have sport teams, cheerleaders, dances, proms, homecoming queens, instead we have quartets, quintets, trios, ensembles, and dance companies.
  • Do essays well before the due dates.
  • We're going to do chemistry this year.
  • We do all the schoolwork at school so that we have time to practice at home.
  • In our school everyone is grouped differently, grade does not matter.
  • Everyone sings. Use your lungs.
  • Never wait to type your essays the night before they are due.
  • We don't have mirrors.
  • Don't make a big deal about little things.
  • There is no drama here.
  • Pay attention.
  • You're never done.
  • Be very gentle with your instrument.
  • If you have to pretend when you walk into Renarts that it's a different country, go ahead and do so.
  • This is a performing arts school, so be ready to perform at any time.
  • Be prepared to write a lot of thank you letters.
  • Take every day seriously.
  • Practice every day EVEN when you are on vacation.
